Jose Enrique has slammed Cristiano Ronaldo 's behaviour towards Jamie Carragher after the Manchester United star ignored the former Liverpool man on Monday night.
Ronaldo shook Gary Neville's hand and had a brief chat with his ex-teammate before Carragher tried to speak to the forward. However, the 37-year-old completely blanked the Anfield hero and caught up with another United legend, Roy Keane, after he was named as a substitute ahead of the clash with Liverpool at Old Trafford.
Neville mocked Carragher after the incident and Keane also poked fun before United ran out 2-1 winners over the Reds thanks to goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford. Mohamed Salah scored Liverpool's only goal of the game as Jurgen Klopp's side fell to their first defeat of the season.
But Enrique was not happy with Ronaldo for snubbing Carragher and believes the five-time Ballon d'Or winner will regret his actions when he retires from football. He also claims that the Portuguese showed disrespect towards the pundit, who made over 500 appearances for Liverpool across his career.
Enrique said on Instagram : "The disrespect from Cristiano Ronaldo to Carra isn't right. Keane and Gary have been killing him on Sky Sports as well, so I'm sure it's not because of that, but someone that plays football for that long and makes that many appearances for Liverpool, at least you say hi out of respect. Another thing why I will never like Cristiano Ronaldo and when football finish let's see who he will have around be like this."
Ronaldo was dropped for the visit of Klopp's side on Monday after starting the humiliating 4-0 defeat at Brentford. Instead, Rashford was picked to play in the central role at Old Trafford for the crunch clash.

That led to Carragher pointing out his theory that Ronaldo is being ignored by Ten Hag. The former Liverpool star told Sky Sports: "I mean with [Anthony] Martial coming on, it’s obvious Erik ten Hag has blanked Ronaldo there hasn’t he."
Ten Hag's decision to snub the Real Madrid legend paid off, with Martial playing well as United secured the three points. Rashford moved to a position on the left wing after Martial was introduced, with the Englishman scoring United's second goal after fine work from United's No.9.
When it was revealed before the game that Ronaldo had been dropped to the bench, Carragher also cast doubt over his future at the club. The Reds icon believes Ronaldo could be on his way if United add more signings.
"I think Ronaldo, the manager has an opportunity with players back to say no I want you on the bench. If I’m being honest, I’m not sure the manager wants Ronaldo around the place, he had to play him last week because it was so poor against Brighton. As soon as he’s got options he’s put him on the bench and in two weeks I think Ronaldo will move on," he said.
