Cristiano Ronaldo shares touching picture of newborn girl after loss of her twin brother

Cristiano Ronaldo has shared a moving picture of his family with their newborn daughter - just days after the tragic death of her twin brother.

The Man United forward, 37, said that he and his partner Georgina Rodriguez were “grateful for the life” they had brought into the world after suffering the tragic death of their son on Monday.

They said they felt “all the love” after their baby boy’s death.

Ronaldo wrote: “Home sweet home. Gio and our baby girl are finally together with us.

“We want to thank everyone for all the kind words and gestures.”

The Portugal star and Ms Rodriguez on Monday described the death of their son as the “greatest pain that any parent can feel”.

“Only the birth of our baby girl gives us strength to live this this moment with some hope and happiness,” they said.

The news prompted a huge outpouring of support from across the sporting world, with Liverpool fans singing “You’ll Never Walk Alone” in the seventh minute of their match against Man United on Tuesday.

He did not feature in Tuesday night’s match because of the tragedy.

Ronaldo and Ms Rodriguez announced they had been expecting twins at the end of October 2021.

They share their daughter Alana together while Ronaldo also has son Cristiano Jnr and twins Eva and Mateo.

In 2015, the footballer said becoming a father had been an “incredible” experience.

“It’s been incredible. I never imagined that my life would change so much,” he told Spanish news agency EFE at the time.

“It was always my dream to have a child young, when I was 25. He’s changed the way I think, he’s always with me, supporting me.”
