Cristiano Ronaldo 'sends' former Man United teammates Saudi Arabia invitation

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly looking to bring some of his former Manchester United teammates to join him on holiday, with the forward appearing to be looking to build bridges following his exit from Old Trafford.

Ronaldo moved to Saudi Pro League leaders Al-Nassr in a move which was completed earlier this month having left Old Trafford as a free agent following his bombshell TV interview with Piers Morgan. At first, things appeared awkward for Ronaldo when confronted with his former colleagues, however, the news that he might be looking to invite his ex-teammates for a visit suggests otherwise.

The Sun reports that Ronaldo has made the invitation to some of his closest friends from his time at Old Trafford, with the Portuguese forward having left the wider United WhatsApp group upon his departure.

It is claimed that an inside source said that Ronaldo remains close to certain players and has extended the invitation to join him on holiday either in Saudi Arabia or at his new home in Portugal which is currently under construction.

The source revealed that the 37-year-old has certain 'mates' from his time in Manchester, saying: 'Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro and Raphael Varane are all mates.'

The news that he has spoken to Maguire may be a surprise given the apparent distance between the pair during their time at the club. Tension appeared to exist between the pair due to Maguire's role as captain, with a power struggle seemingly taking place during last season.

However, Maguire has publicly spoken of his respect for Ronaldo since and there appears to be no lasting animosity between the pair if the latest developments are anything to go by.
