Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Raphael Varane will miss the upcoming West Ham United clash but that Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to the first-team squad.
The Hammers make the trip to Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon looking to further climb up the table following the 2-0 win over Bournemouth on Monday night.
In United, David Moyes' side face a side in-form and picking up steam under new manager Ten Hag, who arrived in the summer.

Though they will do so without 2018 World Cup winner Varane, who was forced off in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea with a hamstring injury which could rule him out of the international cup competition which begins in November.
“Rapha Varane isn't in the squad,” Ten Hag told reporters. “He will be out, certainly until the World Cup so he will not play in this block [of games] for Man United.”
"I think so," Ten Hag replied when asking if he will be out until the World Cup. "But the prognosis we have to wait. We have to see how it develops, how the rehab will develop."
But the Red Devils have been handed a boost with the return of Ronaldo following his one-match punishment for refusing to come on and walking down the tunnel during the 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
The Dutch boss said that the former Real Madrid star will be in the squad for the UEFA Europa League group stage tie against Sheriff Tiraspol.
“It's not difficult but I think we set everything and we answered all the questions,” Ten Hag added. “So he was out for one game and now he is back in the squad as usual.”
However, French striker Anthony Martial is unlikely to fit to feature with Ten Hag confirming he will not be available for the European match on Thursday night.
