Cristiano Ronaldo offers Manchester United reminder as striker 'rolls back the years'

Cristiano Ronaldo netted his ninth goal for Al-Nassr since his move from Manchester United with a stunning free kick to inspire a comeback victory over Abha in the Saudi Pro League.

The three points kept Ronaldo's side second in the table and within one point of table topping Al-Ittihad, who were also winners at the weekend. It looked like Al-Nassr were going to suffer a shock defeat in the closing stages with the visitors one up.

Enter Ronaldo. He let loose with a free kick from more than 35 yards and his powerful effort flew through the wall and underneath the desperate dive of Devis Epassy. The 38-year-old's goal was his first from a direct free-kick since managing one in a 3-2 victory for United against Norwich City 11 months ago, a game in which he netted a hattrick.

The Portugal international has now scored 59 career free-kick goals and has only failed to score in such situations in two of the last 21 calendar years. Here is how supporters have reacted to the news of his latest touch of quality.

@AlexHavertz: "Cristiano Ronaldo from 35+ yards put, rolling back the years, what a free-kick."
