Cristiano Ronaldo has already spoken about MLS transfer amid bombshell Man United interview

Cristiano Ronaldo it the talk of the town after slamming Manchester United and Erik ten Hag in his groundbreaking interview with Piers Morgan. Now it seems like Ronaldo could potentially move to Major League Soccer and the 37-year-old has already talked-up his chances of making that happen.

The MLS has grown in significance since David Beckham's arrival at LA Galaxy in 2007. The former United and England legend's move onto US soil was a huge moment for the sport in America and many superstars have joined the league over the past ten years.

In 2016, Ronaldo did not rule out featuring in the MLS and he cited the progression of the league at that time was pleasing to see.

At the time, Ronaldo was starring for Real Madrid before he moved to Juventus and then back to Old Trafford. But his feelings back then should only have strengthened, given the MLS' continual ability to attract big players.

"I know that many players move there," he said. "I think it's becoming better and better. It's growing. I think it's good. It's good for me and young players that maybe one day we want to move there. So it's good that football—'soccer'—grows there."

He added that there could be a real possibility of him moving there at one stage of his career.

"I mean, what's happening there is great, it's fantastic—maybe in the future will be a good chance for me to play there. You never know, but it's something interesting. I consider it, of course, because as I've said, soccer there has become better and better, so why not? I think that this is maybe going to be possible."

So, MLS fans and those living in the United States could be in for a treat. Ronaldo could not find an appropriate suitor in the summer and he may have to move to America in order to continue his remarkable career. With former team-mates like Gareth Bale and Gonzalo Higuain making the move, Ronaldo could see the league as the perfect way to conclude his time in football.

However, his move could taint the opinion of idolising United fans, who have been left shocked by his recent comments about their club and their manager. He came back as a legend of the club but the unceremonious way in which he is trying to leave is likely to leave a sour taste in the mouth.
