Cristiano Ronaldo 'chased' for half a mile down Glasgow street after Hampden draw

Cristiano Ronaldo was chased for half a mile as he left Hampden following the draw between Scotland and Portugal.

The Real Madrid icon - now at Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr - was swarmed by supporters throughout his short spell in Scotland on international duty with his country.

And that continued after the final whistle at Hampden as Ronaldo was chased by fans desperate for a selfie or signature as he left the stadium.

The footballing hero, 39, had left the field furious after the referee called time as Portugal won a corner in the Nations League contest.

Ronaldo was jeered as he stormed up the tunnel in a bad temper at full-time but he was "charming" with young fans as his car departed the ground.

Broadcaster David Tanner was among those lucky enough to snag a signature as he watched fans charge down Ronaldo's vehicle for half a mile along the road.

Tanner posted on X: "I was privileged to get the only interview with #cristianoronaldo at his #realmadrid debut.

"I didn’t think it appropriate to get his autograph for my son. I put that right at the Cathcart Rd lights!

"#CR7 was charming and also kind to the lads who ran after his car for 1/2 mile!"

Breaking his silence after the match, Ronaldo posted on Instagram: “We continue together.”
