Cristiano Ronaldo breaks silence after joining Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr on two-year deal

Cristiano Ronaldo has broken his silence after officially signing for Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr on a two-year deal - just over a month since he departed Manchester United.

The 37-year-old signed a contract with the Saudi Pro League outfit until 2025, with the club announcing the veteran striker's signing on Friday evening.

According to CBS, Ronaldo has signed a deal in the range of £172million, despite previously expressing his ambition to play in the Champions League once again in his career. He had suggested that he had offers from a number of sides round the globe, but nothing materialised.

Ronaldo, who had scored just three times for the Reds this season prior to his exit, expressed his delight at joining the Saudi Arabian side shortly after the deal was announced.

"I am happy to have a new experience in another league and another country," said Ronaldo. "Al Nassr's vision is very inspiring. I'm very excited to join my teammates and help the team achieve more success."

Al Nassr currently find themselves in second position in the Saudi Pro League, with former Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina, ex-Bayern Munich midfielder Luiz Gustavo and Cameroon ace Vincent Aboubakar all playing for the club.

Despite his controversial exit from Old Trafford, Ronaldo still scored 145 goals and registered 64 assists in 346 appearances for United across his two spells at the club - winning the Premier League title on three occasions, as well as the Champions League in 2008.
