How Chelsea spend all of their £200million plus transfer budget under new owner Todd Boehly remains a mystery for most supporters.
With key absentees expected in every department this summer, maybe with the exception of the midfield amid minor Jorginho and Ruben Loftus-Cheek exit rumours, new owner Todd Boehly is going to have to inject some much-needed funds into the current squad in order to help them compete with Man City and Liverpool once again. Consequently, some big names in all areas of the pitch have been linked to the current World Champions which is no surprise, considering reports have surfaced that Boehly and Clearlake are prepared to go 'crazy' in their first summer in charge.
In the backline, Matthijs de Ligt and Jules Kounde have been linked. Midfield-wise, Adrien Rabiot and Declan Rice are now the two main options with the likes of PSV's Ibrahim Sanghare in reserve if needed. Up top, Raheem Sterling (£55m) and Ousmane Dembélé (free) are two realistic options that are heavily linked to making the switch to Stamford Bridge this summer. Unbelievably, the Blues have been mentioned as realistic options for the iconic duo of Cristiano Ronaldo (£37.2m) and Neymar (£68m).

All these links have posed questions as to what Chelsea's best attack could be next season and football.london takes a look at a realistic take and an optimistic one regarding who will be fielded week in, week out for Thomas Tuchel's side in 2022/23.
Realistically
Sterling and Dembele's incomings are looking relatively likely to both happen at this point. The pair would both walk into the misfiring Chelsea frontline at the expense of the likes of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech, both players likely to be on their way out this summer amid strong indications that Serie A duo Juventus and AC Milan are interested in their services.
With no real number 9's being seriously linked at this point to compensate for Romelu Lukaku's impending Inter Milan departure barring CR7, Kai Havertz would keep his place up top.
Front three - Raheem Sterling, Ousmane Dembélé, Kai Havertz.
Dream
Signing both Neymar and Ronaldo would be some signal of intent from the part-LA Dodgers owner. Both are in their 30's but have proven over and over again last season that they can still produce the goods on the big stage for Man United and PSG respectively.
A certain mentality that would make Chelsea's attack one of the most feared not only in the Premier League but in the world. In reality, both cannot be signed due to the amount of money needed to make this operation work. With large chunks of the £200m budget needed to be spent on the defensive exodus, it is highly unlikely that both or even one will join this new-look Chelsea ahead of 2022/23.
But you can always dream as they say.
