Crisp fans' delight as popular discontinued flavour makes a comeback

Crisp lovers across the United Kingdom have been sent into a fanatical frenzy, after a popular flavour of crisps impossible to find since its discontinuation 14 years ago is set to return to shelves.

90s and 00s kids will know just how popular a packet of Nik Nak crisps are, with one flavour in particular proving to be that bit more iconic - in the form of the Scampi n' Lemon.

The unique taste was a fan favourite back in the day, and the bizarre concoction even came with an ironic 'Stifle The Stink' tagline encouraging consumers to bin the packaging responsibly. Sadly though, fans have been unable to get their hands on an individual pack since they were pulled from shops in 2008 - to make way for the pickled onion flavourway.

But Edinburgh Live reports that it now it looks like shoppers can relive their youth - with the funky flavour set to reappear in small retailers across the country starting this week. The news was initially announced on the popular Facebook page; Snack News and Reviews.

A post made to the page, read: "Nik Naks Scampi & Lemon are coming back THIS WEEK in convenience stores! Keep your peeled! Thanks treatsinstore for the news."

And the return of the king was met with thunderous applause from foodies across the nation, with many commenting that it was their 'favourite' flavoured crisp. "This is my favourite flavour niknaks", raved one shopper, while another, added: "Best crisps ever!"

"Yes! These were the best one!", praised a third, while: "Used to love these back in the day. Bloody gorgeous!!" commented a fourth.

"Love love LOVE these", wrote a fifth. A sixth shopper tagged their friend and exclaimed: "My absolute faves help me find some."

Fans of the snack are being advised to check smaller convenience stores for the legendary Scampi 'n' Lemon Nik Naks, which may not be available for individual purchase in bigger supermarkets.
