At long last, arguably the best Final Fantasy 7 spinoff is making a grand return.
During the 25th Anniversary broadcast on Thursday, Square Enix announced a full remaster of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7. Yes, the classic PSP title is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam, and Nintendo Switch this winter. It’s sporting all-new visuals, gameplay tweaks, updated voiceovers, and much more.
Fans are always singing the praises of Crisis Core, mainly because this prequel adds plenty of great backstory to Final Fantasy 7‘s Aerith Gainsborough and Zack Fair. If you’re unfamiliar with the latter name, be careful looking up the details – significant spoilers for the original game and all that.

Goodness, there’s no question that the remaster is a massive step up from the PSP version. Now, all we need is Dirge of Cerberus, and every critical bit of Final Fantasy 7‘s history would be more readily available.
