Crime boss Daniel Kinahan meets with Pakistani politician as boxing talks planned

Mob boss Daniel Kinahan has posed for photos with a prominent Pakistani politician – alongside former MTK boss Sandra Vaughan.

Kinahan, seen wearing glasses and looking balder than in previous years, was seen side-by-side Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti, a Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs for the Government of Punjab in Pakistan, as he desperately tries to expand his influence in world boxing.

Kinahan and Ms Vaughan, who previously tried to distance her former company from the mob boss, are seen being presented with some kind of award from Mr Bhatti, in photos posted on social media by the government minister.

Another picture shows Mr Bhatti sitting down with Kinahan next to a sign which reads Turkish Coffee.

The politician tweeted that he would also be hosting Kinahan in Pakistan in the future — where he says he hopes to discuss boxing matches there.

“Met @probellum on aligning vision on boxing for Punjab & how to make this sport bigger for our youth,” he wrote.

“Looking forward to hosting Daniel in Lahore to discuss Pakistan’s first International fight with foreign world class boxers InshAllah.

“Will share more info in the upcoming weeks.”

Boxing company Probellum has not publicly stated any link to Kinahan – but it continues to grow into one of the biggest companies in the sport, next to MTK Global.

MTK Global was co-founded by Kinahan in 2012, but the mobster reportedly “stepped away” from it following “negative publicity” in 2017 — and Sandra Vaughan, who has no involvement in criminality, became its new CEO.

Vaughan, who herself is now no longer CEO of MTK, announced at the time a “boycott of the Irish media” over coverage tying the company with Kinahan, who she claimed had nothing to do with them anymore.

But by 2020 MTK Global admitted that it was still working with Kinahan — whom they said was “an advisor” to many of their boxers.

In recent months Kinahan has again been stepping out into the spotlight with a number of people in the sport singing his praises.

The mob boss sat down for a three hour “tell all” interview with popular podcast host James English — though it has now been shelved due to “legal reasons.”
