Crews are working to rescue a stranded cargo ship drifting off the New South Wales south coast.
The Rio Madeira is about 70 kilometres east of Narooma and is drifting south along the coast.
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) said the Singaporean container ship had a power failure on Thursday night.
An emergency vessel from Newcastle will help tow the ship.
It is expected to arrive at the Rio Madeira this afternoon.
"The ship and the crew are not in immediate danger of impacting the coast," the authority said.
"AMSA is closely monitoring the ship and receiving regular reports from the ship's company."
A spokesperson said there were 27 crew members on board.
"There is a total of 3,380 containers on board of the ship with 126 of those listed as dangerous goods," they said.
"The ship is also carrying 3,075 tonnes of heavy fuel oil and 236 tonnes of diesel oil."
