People may remain conscious even after death, according to previous research. A study of near-death experiences found some patients retained a level of consciousness - even after their hearts stopped beating.
The findings were reported in a paper, published in the medical journal Resuscitation, which examined 2,060 cases of cardiac arrests. One of the men interviewed by researchers accurately recalled how medics carried out his resuscitation, the Mirror reported.
