Part of the M8 in Glasgow has been closed off this morning after a lorry overturned in a crash involving multiple vehicles.
Police and the Scottish Ambulance Service raced to the scene after the collision around 7.35am this morning, near Junction 13 on the major route.
Traffic was being diverted off the motorway at the slip road leading to Blochairn and Parkhead, with the motorway closed. Drivers were being asked to take care as they approached and take a different route where possible.
Road Policing Scotland posted an image in Twitter showing emergency services in attendance and said an overturned lorry was involved in the multi-vehicle crash.
Traffic Scotland also posted an update around 8am, saying motorists should expect delays of around 15 minutes. There is no indication if anyone was injured, as yet.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7.35am on Thursday, April 20, police were called to a report of a road crash on the M8 westbound, near J13. The carriageway is closed and officers are at the scene."
