Crash near Severn Beach leaves motorcyclist with 'life-changing injuries' in hospital

A motorcyclist suffered 'serious, life-changing injuries' and remains in hospital, ten days after a crash near Bristol.

And now police are appealing for motorists in the area of the crash, between Pilning and Severn Beach, to come forward as they try to piece together the circumstances.

The motorcyclist was riding a black Aprilia motorbike when it was involved in a collision with a silver VW Caddy vehicle, being driven along the A403 in Pilning.

The crash happened just before 10.25am on the morning of Tuesday, June 14. The road was closed for a time, and that caused a lot of traffic congestion in the area from Avonmouth to the M4.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police called on people who were in the area at the time to come forward. "Witnesses and motorists with dashcam are being asked to come forward to assist with an investigation into the collision," he said.

"Officers were called to the A403 at about 10.25am after a collision between a black Aprilia motorbike and a silver Volkswagen Caddy. The motorcyclist sustained serious life-changing injuries and remains in hospital. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call 101 and give the call-handler reference number 5222140278," he added.
