A heroin and crack cocaine dealer has been jailed for peddling misery.
Karl Weatherstone was caught with a large amount of the class A drugs when police raided his home. A court heard when officers searched his flat on March 11 this year, he threw a bag for life at their feet and told them "that's what you're after".
But a search of his home uncovered more drugs. In total they found 60.8g of high purity crack cocaine and 8.9g of heroin., which police estimated to be worth around £20,000. They also found drug dealing paraphernalia and £1,250 in cash.

Now Weatherstone, 30, of Linslade Walk, Cramlington, Northumberland, who has 66 previous convictions, has been jailed for three years at Newcastle Crown Court for possession heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply.
Detective Inspector Katie Smith, one of the leading officers on the investigation, has praised the work of the investigation team and reaffirmed our commitment to tackling drug supply. She said: “This has been an outstanding piece of police work by the investigation team, from the intelligence gathering, the execution of the warrant and the subsequent search of the property. Collectively this has ensured a strong case against the defendant which secured a successful outcome at court.
“Hopefully this sends a firm message that work to tackle drug supply in our communities will not stop and we have intelligence coming in everyday helping us target offenders.”
Liam O'Brien, defending, said: "He had a difficult start to life and he was in and out of prison from an early age. His life spiralled out of control and he was seeking to pay of debts. Any profit was not to fund a life of luxury, they were to obtain further drugs for his own use."
