Craig Moore has hit back at Jamie O’Hara’s assertion that Gio van Bronckhorst will never win a Premiership title at Rangers.
The loudmouth talkSport pundit claims that the gers are “miles off” rivals Celtic, despite the chance to go top of the table on Saturday with a win over Hearts at Tynecastle. O’Hara reckons van Bronckhorst isn't cut out for Scottish football and is more suited to the European game. The Dutchman led the Ibrox club to the Europa League final last year before going on to lift the Scottish Cup just three days after their defeat to Frankfurt in Seville.
But former Tottenham squad man O’Hara doesn’t believe GVB has what it takes to get the better of Ange Postecoglou. He said: “Rangers won’t stop Celtic this season, they’re miles off. I don’t think van Bronckhorst will ever win the Scottish title. He’s more suited to European football. He’s a European manager that sets his team up like a European side. When they play in Scotland they struggle. Ange [Postecoglou] is the real deal at Celtic and that’s killed him.”
However, former Rangers star Craig Moore has laughed off O’Hara’s claims. Van Bronckhorst has been there and done it as a player at the very highest level and also enjoyed managerial success prior to making his return to Glasgow.
And Moore was at pains to point out just how much his former teammate has won over a glittering career, suggesting O’Hara doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
The Australian tweeted: “Won the premier league in England Scotland Spain as player. Won Champions league with Barcelona. Runner up at 2010 World Cup. Won the title in Holland against big 2 and reached Europa league final” followed by several laughing emojis.
