Craig Doyle caught up in Loose Women chaos as extreme weather forces him off air

Craig Doyle was forced off air whilst hosting a competition for Loose Women,. as extreme conditions brought an abrupt end to his live broadcasts.

The Irish star, who has received widespread praise from This Morning hoists after he impressed as a guest host over the summer, alongside both Josie Gibson and Rochelle Humes, was back on ITV daytime duties on Tuesday, with him due to appear at various points during the latest episode of Loose Women to front a competition live from Wicklow In Ireland, giving viewers at home the chance to win £100,00.

Loose Women host Ruth Langsford first went to Craig after the lunchtime talk show's first ad break, with him looking suitably soaked, as he appeared on camera from in front of a waterfall. He told Ruth: "I'm a little bit disappointed you know; we've this lovely £100,000 to give away and it's going to give me this chance to showcase Wicklow, where I live.. I've brought a load of friends with me, we were going to go cycling round the Wicklow Hills. We were bathed in lycra and then the rain came along and we're absolutely soaked!"

Standing back from the camera, Craig said he'd had to remove 'all his clothing' before putting a huge waterproof on. He explained: "There is absolutely nothing under here, nothing, not even a blade of her! And I've done all that for you guys," as Ruth joked: "The things you do in the line of duty!"

Things went from bad to worse for Craig later on in the show when Ruth explained they were unable to go back to speak to him again as weather had shut down production, leaving Ruth to explain what had gone on. She told people watching at home: "Now earlier we saw the lovely Craig Doyle in County Wicklow in Ireland, where it was pouring with rain. He claimed he had nothing on underneath, I said we'd come back later to find out, we've lost the link. The weather is so bad there now that we've actually lost the link!"

Thankfully, former Holiday p[presenter Craig had pre-recorded a video earlier, meaning that competition details could still go out on air.
