Craig David was today blasted by a top human rights campaigner for performing at the Qatar World Cup.
The 41-year-old singer this week won an outstanding contribution award at the MOBOs.
He claimed in an ITV interview that he is standing up for "people who aren't seen, who don't have a voice".
But his comments caused fury after it emerged he performed in Doha on November 25.
Qatar has been blasted for its human rights record and stance on LGBTQ+.
Campaigner Peter Tatchell said: "I love Craig David's music but he has allowed himself to be used by the Qatar dictatorship to boost its international image.

"He's failed to speak for the voiceless in Qatar: oppressed women, LGBTs and migrant workers.
"This is a sexist, homophobic, racist regime.
"He's put money and greed before principles. Many fans will be gutted."
