Craig David has candidly opened up about his struggle to open up to women following heartbreak as a teen.
The singing sensation, 40, is best known for his lyrics regarding female attention, but he admits his past his played a part in him still being single today.
The star claimed his heart "closed down" after breaking up with his first crush at school and says he has struggled to hold down a long-term relationship ever since.
The 7 Days singer revealed his longest relationship to date since then has been two and a half years.
Speaking on The Diary of a CEO With Steven Bartlett podcast, Craig said: "My heart was so open, I had that first heartbreak and it just went from a kid with his heart open, to all of a sudden it just crashed.
"I had never felt anything like that before. After my early childhood sweetheart break-up, my heart kind of closed down."
He continued: "I feel open enough to be apologetic for relationships my heart was closed for. I feel sorry for the girls and women in the latter stage of my life who tried to open my heart up."
Unfortunately for the MOBO winner, he has been on the receiving end of some unwanted attention too.
Earlier this year a woman was handed a five year banning order - which she was set to appeal - which prevents her from contacting the singer.
During Jeal's appearance at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court, it was heard that she became "obsessed and infatuated" with the singer and had been claiming she was his girlfriend since 2016.
Craig alleged that the woman arrived at his him in November and rang the intercom several times.
She allegedly held a photo she had taken with him five years previous.
She is also said to have sent him a Snapchat image of herself at a hotel they were supposedly both staying at along with the message: "I know you love me."
The court heard that she allegedly posted a note under his door, which read: "I hope Buddha deals with lies like you, Buddha will take this from here, you’re an a**hole, from Tanya, your motherf***ing girlfriend".
