Crafty Egg cafe to open second venue at former Fishponds pub

Popular eatery The Crafty Egg is opening a second cafe at a former pub in Fishponds.

Known for having long queues outside at weekends, Crafty Egg's current venue in Stokes Croft is loved by foodies across the city. And its expansion means plenty of job opportunities.

It will also be good news for local suppliers from whom the cafe hopes to source ingredients.

Bosses say the new venue will serve up delicious brunches in the daytime, switching to booze and food at night.

The cafe posted: "Exciting news!! We have the keys and can confirm we’re opening a second venue!

"This lovely pub, with lots of character and history has been closed since summer 2021.

"We’re giving it a new lease of life, but it’ll be reborn with a twist!

"The Crafty Egg 2 is coming to Fishponds!"

The cafe will be opening 8am until late and offering the usual brunch menu.

It posted: "As we move into the late afternoon and evening, brunch will close down and the venue will go back to its roots - a boozer, but with food.

"Beer wise, we’ll keep it local. There’s no shortage of breweries on our doorstep."

"To top it all off we’re putting our hand to pizza, using only top notch ingredients. Our doors are also open to pop ups.

Hopefully opening by March

"The aesthetic will be casual, funky and full of plants, in a similar vein to our original Stokes Croft site, only much bigger.

"We hope to be ready by March."

The move means The Crafty Egg is recruiting an entirely new hospitality team .

The cafe is looking for a cafe manager, baristas, front house staff, a kitchen manager to work with their executive chef, chefs, kitchen assistants and a pizza chef who will run their own team.

it plans to have cafe staff for the daytime and bar staff for the evenings.
