Crafts Policy must be implemented to incentivise adoption: Experts

AHMEDABAD: Experts present at a panel discussion organised in Ahmedabad on Sunday to mark the National Handloom Day on August 7, emphasised the development of a crafts policy that can incentivise adoption of heritage crafts of Gujarat.

There is an urgent need for an inflection point in the crafts sector and this can come largely through a policy intervention, said heritage hotelier, Abhay Mangaldas, who was one of the panellists at ‘Know Your Weave’, a discussion organised by the Crafts Council of Gujarat (CCG) and ITC Narmada.
