Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stands by Amari Cooper trade to the Browns

The Cleveland Browns acquired Amari Cooper last offseason for a fifth-round pick and a swamp of sixth-round picks. Jerry Jones nearly a year later stands by the decision to trade Cooper and is happy with the deal.

“When I look at the salary involved, over $20 million a year, and I look at what we got with that salary to help this team that we wouldn’t have been able to have with this team, had we kept him, I like what we did,” Jones said.

Most people that think it was a lopsided deal disagreed with Jones trading him but disagree with the compensation. The Steelers got a second-round pick for Chase Claypool who isn’t a productive wide receiver and yet the Cowboys only got a fifth-round pick one of the best route runners in the NFL.
