Schottenheimer was employed by the Dallas Cowboys last season as a consultant. With their previous offensive coordinator, Kellen Moore, off to coach Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers as their new OC, Schottenheimer returns to the coaching role he has mostly filled in the NFL.
Schottenheimer was the Seahawks offensive coordinator from 2018-2020. During this time Seattle’s offense evolved tremendously. Under Schottenheimer, former Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson produced the best numbers of his career.
Following a mutual parting from Seattle, Schottenheimer joined Urban Meyer’s staff as the passing game coordinator in Jacksonville. When Meyer’s disastrous tenure mercifully ended, Schottenheimer went to Dallas. Now he will look to get the most out of oft-criticized quarterback Dak Prescott.
