Cowboys’ Dak Prescott Went to Extreme Measures to Get Latest Tattoo

Earlier this offseason, Dak Prescott made headlines after unveiling a highly detailed and personal tattoo that reportedly took around 10 hours to complete. Fast forward nearly six months later, and surprising details of Prescott’s extensive ink session now have been revealed.

By now, the Cowboys quarterback’s affinity for tattoos is fairly well known. But, for this latest tattoo which covers most of his right leg, the 30-year-old underwent supervised sedation for roughly 11 hours (!) in order to finish the process, according to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

To make matters more extreme, neither coach Mike McCarthy nor team owner Jerry Jones were informed of Prescott’s decision beforehand, per Hill, which naturally left both men concerned about their franchise QB.

“I certainly didn’t know he was under for 10 hours,” Jones said, per Hill. “Just so you’re clear, I had no idea about tattoos. I better get up to date on it. I had no idea that required that kind of sedation of any tattoo. It further explains to me why I don’t have a tattoo.”

McCarthy admitted he was taken aback when he first saw the scope and detail of Prescott’s new tattoo.

“I was like, ‘Whoa, what the … happen to your leg,’” McCarthy said. “So he shows it to me. I’m like ‘Jesus Christ, how long did that take? You’ve been doing it all week.’ He said, ’No, I did it all at one time.’ He showed me a video of it and like ‘Oh, my God.’”

Needless to say, based on Prescott’s latest ink session, the two-time Pro Bowler appears willing to go to great lengths in the name of art—even if it means his team is the last to know about his plans.
