Coronavirus cases have remained high in Edinburgh in the last week, with the virus still prominent in the capital.
In the last seven days, over 1,500 new infections have been reported by Public Health Scotland, despite there now being no restrictions surrounding the virus.
It comes just days after the Scottish Government announced everyone over the age of 50 will be offered a Covid-19 booster and flu jab this autumn, amid spiking infections across the country.

In Edinburgh, the last week of data has shown that the Comiston and Swanston area was the worst hotspot in the city, with 33 new cases and an infection rate of 640.4 per 100,000 of population.

Close behind was Corstorphine North, with 22 new cases and an infection rate of 572.2 per 100,000 of population. This was then followed by Morningside, with 33 new cases and an infection rate of 548.1.
The least affected area appears to be Longstone and Saughton, with just seven new cases and an infection rate of 152.3 per 100,000 of population.
With cases remaining high across Scotland, Health experts across the globe have indicated that a new covid variant could 'wreak havoc' on the world, with the latest fast-spreading strain taking its toll in India as well as making ground in the UK in recent weeks.
The BA.2.75 variant , or Centaurus, was first picked up in India in early May and after arriving in the UK, cases have been moving in a sharp upward trend, as in recent weeks, health experts at the University of Edinburgh, have expressed concerns over the growing number of cases in Scotland.
