Covid rates are still rising around the North East - though the region remains less hard hit than elsewhere in the country.
Each of the seven local authorities in our area has seen the Covid-19 cases continue to tick upwards - but in some such as Newcastle, Northumberland and County Durham the rises are considerably lower than were seen a week ago.
However, with experts in the NHS and beyond continuing to warn that Covid remains out there, it's important to note that - ahead of the end of mass testing in a week's time - the virus is still spreading fast.
