The Department of Health say severely immunosuppressed individuals who have had three primary doses of the Covid-19 vaccine can now receive their booster.
Letters have been issued by Trusts on this fourth dose to those who are eligible.
A third primary dose was previously offered to a small number of individuals aged 12 years and over with severe immunosuppression.
The DoH say this third primary dose should be followed with the booster dose (fourth dose) from three months after the third primary dose is administered.
This booster (fourth dose) can be booked online HERE.
A second booster for those who received two primary doses and the booster vaccine has not yet been recommended by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI).
A spokesperson for the Department of Health said: "Severely immunosuppressed individuals who have completed their primary course (three doses) are now eligible to receive a booster dose with a minimum of three months between the third primary and booster dose.
"Trusts have issued letters to those who they previously vaccinated with a 3rd primary dose to advise them to book their booster dose. In terms of the wider programme, the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) have not recommended a 2nd booster (or 4th dose) for anyone at this stage."
