Covid Ireland: EWSS rates to be cut from today but one group is exempt

From today, February 1, 2022, the Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme rates will be cut as thousands of businesses reopen amid the latest easing of Covid measures.

The scheme was brought in back in 2020 as a form of support to help businesses cope with the fallout associated with the pandemic.

After a lengthy run, from today some businesses will notice the subsidy rates fall from between €203 - €350 a week to €151.50 - €203 a week depending on each employee's salary.
