Positive Covid tests have jumped by a third in the Liverpool City Region.
According to the latest data from Public Health England, the City Region recorded 3,564 cases, which is 885 more cases than the previous week. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure increased by exactly 33% in the Liverpool City Region in the week ending June 27.
Each individual area of the city region also saw rises in positive Covid tests in the week ending June 27. The week-on-week percentage change figure increases were: 21% in Knowsley; 26% in Liverpool; 43% in Halton; 40% in St Helens; 52% in Wirral; and, 22% in Sefton.

Rises were also logged in Warrington, Cheshire West and Chester, and West Lancs.
In England overall, the week-on-week percentage change figure mirrored the Liverpool City Region's figure as the nation's figure rose by 33% in the week ending June 27.
Liverpool
Liverpool's positive tests came to 1,068 cases in the week ending June 27, which is 222 more cases than the previous week. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure went up by 26%. The latest infection rate was 213.4 cases per 100,000 people.
Wirral
Wirral's positive tests came to 795 cases in the week ending June 27, which is 271 more cases than in the previous seven days. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure went up by 52%. The latest infection rate was 245.1 cases per 100,000 people.
Halton
There were 334 positive tests over the last week - that's 100 more cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change figure went up by 43% in Halton in the week ending June 27. The latest infection rate is 257.4 cases per 100,000 people.
St Helens
There was a total of 441 cases in the week ending June 27, which is 126 more cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in St Helens is 243.5 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure went up by 40%.
Knowsley
There was a total of 304 cases in the week ending June 27, which is 53 more cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in Knowsley is 199.4 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure went up by 21%.
Sefton
Sefton had a total of 622 cases in the week ending June 27, which is a 113 more cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate is 225.4 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases went up by 22% week on week.
Liverpool City Region
There were 3,564 positive tests over in the week ending June 27, which is 885 more cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change went up by 33%. The latest infection rate is 209.31 cases per 100,000 people.
Warrington
There were 519 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending June 27, which is 160 more cases than the previous week. The week-on-week percentage figure went up by 45%. There was an infection rate of 247.85 per 100,000 people.
Cheshire West and Chester
There were 837 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending June 27, which is 264 more cases than the previous week. The week-on-week percentage figure went up by 46%. There was an infection rate of 243.44 per 100,000 people.
West Lancs
There were 244 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending June 27, which is 52 more cases than the previous week. The latest infection rate in West Lancs is 213.11 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage went up by 27% in cases.
England
In the week ending June 27, England recorded 121,112 coronavirus cases, which is 29,926 more cases than in the previous seven days. The week-on-week percentage went up by 33% in England. There was an infection rate of 214.17 per 100,000 people.
