There were rises in Covid infections in three areas of the Liverpool City Region, and in the other three areas there were falls in infections.
According to the latest data from Public Health England, Knowsley, Liverpool and St Helens recorded rises, and Halton, Sefton and Wirral recorded falls in the week ending May 9.

The week-on-week percentage change figure rises were 9%, 6% and 20%, respectively. And the falls were 4%, 8% and 13%.
Cheshire West and Chester, Warrington and West Lancs recorded drops in positive tests in the week ending May 9.
In England, there was a week-on-week percentage change figure fall of 6%.
Liverpool
Liverpool's positive tests came to 530 cases in the week ending May 9, which is 30 more cases than the previous week. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure increased by 6%. The latest infection rate was 105.9 cases per 100,000 people.
Wirral
Wirral's positive tests came to 334 cases in the week ending May 9, which is 51 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 13.2%. The latest infection rate was 103.0 cases per 100,000 people.
Halton
There were 140 positive tests over the last week - that's six fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 4% in Halton in the week ending May 9. The latest infection rate is 107.9 cases per 100,000 people.
St Helens
There was a total of 223 cases in the week ending May 9, which is 37 more cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in St Helens is 123.1 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure increased by 20%.
Knowsley
There was a total of 199 cases in the week ending May 9, which is 17 more cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in Knowsley is 130.5 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure increased by 9%.
Sefton
Sefton had a total of 359 cases in the week ending May 9, which is a 30 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate is 130.1 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases decreased by 8% week on week.
Liverpool City Region
There were 1,785 positive tests over in the week ending May 9, which is three fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change decreased by 0.2%. The latest infection rate is 104.83 cases per 100,000 people.
Warrington
There were 252 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending May 9, which is 38 fewer cases than the previous week. The week-on-week percentage figure decreased by 13%. There was an infection rate of 120.35 per 100,000 people.
Cheshire West and Chester
There were 465 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending May 9, which is four fewer cases than the previous week. The latest infection rate is 135.24 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage decreased by 1% in cases.
West Lancs
There were 112 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending May 9, which is 15 fewer cases than the previous week. The latest infection rate in West Lancs is 97.82 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage decreased by 12% in cases.
England
In the week ending May 9, England recorded 59,638 coronavirus cases, which is 3,634 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. The week-on-week percentage decreased by 6% in England. There was an infection rate of 105.46 per 100,000 people.
