The Liverpool City Region has recorded another fall in Covid infections.
According to the latest data from Public Health England, the city region recorded 1,191 cases in the week ending May 17. That's 320 fewer cases than in the previous seven days.
It meant that the week-on-week percentage change figure in the city region as a whole dropped by 21%.

In the six individual local government areas of city region there were decreases in the week-on-week percentage change figures. The falls were: 27% in Knowsley; 26% in Liverpool; 3% in Halton; 27% in St Helens; 24% in Sefton; 13% in Wirral.
In West Lancs, Warrington, and Cheshire West and Chester recorded falls in Covid infections.
In England, in the week ending May 17, the week-on-week percentage change figure fell by 15%.
Liverpool
Liverpool's positive tests came to 331 cases in the week ending May 17, which is 115 fewer cases than the previous week. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 26%. The latest infection rate was 66.1 cases per 100,000 people.
Wirral
Wirral's positive tests came to 264 cases in the week ending May 17, which is 38 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 13%. The latest infection rate was 81.4 cases per 100,000 people.
Halton
There were 113 positive tests over the last week - that's three fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 3% in Halton in the week ending May 17. The latest infection rate is 87.1 cases per 100,000 people.
St Helens
There was a total of 145 cases in the week ending May 17, which is 54 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in St Helens is 80.1 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 27%.
Knowsley
There was a total of 110 cases in the week ending May 17, which is 40 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in Knowsley is 72.2 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 27%.
Sefton
Sefton had a total of 228 cases in the week ending May 17, which is a 70 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate is 82.6 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases decreased by 24% week on week.
Liverpool City Region
There were 1,191 positive tests over in the week ending May 17, which is 320 fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change decreased by 21%. The latest infection rate is 69.95 cases per 100,000 people.
Warrington
There were 162 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending May 17, which is 45 fewer cases than the previous week. The week-on-week percentage figure decreased by 22%. There was an infection rate of 77.36 per 100,000 people.
Cheshire West and Chester
There were 297 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending May 17, which is 109 fewer cases than the previous week. The latest infection rate is 86.38 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage decreased by 27% in cases.
West Lancs
There were 91 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending May 17, which is nine fewer cases than the previous week. The latest infection rate in West Lancs is 79.48 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage decreased by 9% in cases.
England
In the week ending May 17, England recorded 44,001 coronavirus cases, which is 7,984 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. The week-on-week percentage decreased by 15% in England. There was an infection rate of 77.81 per 100,000 people.
