All areas of the Liverpool City Region have recorded a fall in positive Covid tests again.
According to the latest data from Public Health England, there were 4,087 cases in the week ending April 16 in the Liverpool City Region. That's 2,056 fewer cases than in the previous seven days.
It meant the week-on-week percentage change figure went down by 34% in the Liverpool City Region. The falls in each of the areas of the city region were: 31% in Knowsley; 33% in Liverpool; 36% in Halton; 34% in St Helens; 29% in Sefton; and, 37% in Wirral.

Warrington, West Lancs, and Cheshire West and Cheshire all recorded falls in positive Covid tests.
In the country overall, there were 162,583 cases in the week ending April 16, which was 76,889 fewer cases than the previous week.
Liverpool
Liverpool's positive tests came to 1,103 cases in the week ending April 16, which is 549 fewer cases than the previous week. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure went down by 33%. The latest infection rate was 220.4 cases per 100,000 people.
Wirral
Wirral's positive tests came to 907 cases in the week ending April 16, which is 533 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 37%. The latest infection rate was 279.6 cases per 100,000 people.
Halton
There were 344 positive tests over the last week - that's 194 fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 36% in Halton in the week ending April 16. The latest infection rate is 265.1 cases per 100,000 people.
St Helens
There was a total of 492 cases in the week ending April 16, which is 255 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in St Helens is 271.7 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure dropped by 34%.
Knowsley
There was a total of 396 cases in the week ending April 16, which is 179 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in Knowsley is 259.8 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure dropped by 31%.
Sefton
Sefton had a total of 845 cases in the week ending April 16, which is a 346 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate is 306.3 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases fell by 29% week on week.
Liverpool City Region
There were 4,087 positive tests over in the week ending April 16, which is 2,056 fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change went down by 34%. The latest infection rate is 240.02 cases per 100,000 people.
Warrington
There were 653 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending April 16, which is 326 fewer cases than the previous week. The week-on-week percentage figure went down by 33%. There was an infection rate of 311.85 per 100,000 people.
Cheshire West and Chester
There were 1,186 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending April 16, which is 472 fewer cases than the previous week. The latest infection rate is 344.95 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage dropped by 29% in cases.
West Lancs
There were 339 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending April 16, which is 78 fewer cases than the previous week. The latest infection rate in West Lancs is 296.08 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage decreased by 19% in cases.
England
In the week ending April 16, England recorded 162,583 coronavirus cases, which is 76,889 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. The week-on-week percentage fell by 32% in England, and there was an infection rate of 287.50 per 100,000 people.
