The latest covid infection rate in the Liverpool City Region is lower than 200 per 100,000 people.
According to the latest data from Public Health England, the Liverpool City Region logged 3,193 cases in the week ending April 21. That's 1,270 fewer cases than in the previous seven days.
It meant that the week-on-week percentage change figure dropped by 29%, and the latest infection rate is 187.52 cases per 100,000 people. All six areas of the city region saw falls in the week-on-week percentage change figures. The falls were: 35% in Knowsley; 26% in Liverpool; 31% in Halton; 32% in St Helens; 29% in Sefton; and, 24% in Wirral.

And Warrington, West Lancs, and Cheshire West and Cheshire, all also recorded drops in positive covid tests in the week ending April 21.
In England, there were 121,481 cases, which was 58,936 fewer cases than the previous week.
Liverpool
Liverpool's positive tests came to 883 cases in the week ending April 21, which is 315 fewer cases than the previous week. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure dropped by 26%. The latest infection rate was 176.4 cases per 100,000 people.
Wirral
Wirral's positive tests came to 732 cases in the week ending April 21, which is 236 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure dropped by 24%. The latest infection rate was 225.7 cases per 100,000 people.
Halton
There were 264 positive tests over the last week - that's 121 fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change figure dropped by 31% in Halton in the week ending April 21. The latest infection rate is 203.5 cases per 100,000 people.
St Helens
There was a total of 368 cases in the week ending April 21, which is 176 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in St Helens is 203.2 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure dropped by 32%.
Knowsley
There was a total of 272 cases in the week ending April 21, which is 148 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in Knowsley is 178.4 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure dropped by 35%.
Sefton
Sefton had a total of 674 cases in the week ending April 21, which is a 274 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate is 244.3 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases dropped by 29% week on week.
Liverpool City Region
There were 3,193 positive tests over in the week ending April 21, which is 1,270 fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change dropped by 29%. The latest infection rate is 187.52 cases per 100,000 people.
Warrington
There were 502 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending April 21, which is 221 fewer cases than the previous week. The week-on-week percentage figure dropped by 31%. There was an infection rate of 239.74 per 100,000 people.
Cheshire West and Chester
There were 910 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending April 21, which is 380 fewer cases than the previous week. The latest infection rate is 264.67 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage dropped by 30% in cases.
West Lancs
There were 259 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending April 21, which is 96 fewer cases than the previous week. The latest infection rate in West Lancs is 226.21 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage dropped by 27% in cases.
England
In the week ending April 21, England recorded 121,481 coronavirus cases, which is 58,936 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. The week-on-week percentage dropped by 33% in England. There was an infection rate of 214.82 per 100,000 people.
