HYDERABAD: The daily caseload in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has been decreasing, but the positivity rate remains above 5% (5.03% currently).
GHMC is the only area in the state where a more than 5% positivity rate is being seen. Ranga Reddy (1.90%), Adilabad (1.49%) and Medak (1.20%) and Sangareddy (1%), all come after the GHMC area.
The other districts have a positivity rate of less than one. Jogulamba Gadwal has the lowest positivity rate of 0.01.
During the third wave, the GHMC reported over 1,000 daily cases for approximately 15 days up till Sunday. This week, the number of cases has dropped below 1,000, with the GHMC reporting 747 cases on Wednesday.
Health officials say that while the numbers are gradually decreasing, this week will be critical in terms of case volume. “If cases fall below a certain level, we can expect the wave to begin to recede, as long as people avoid large gatherings,” a top official said.
