A COVID-19 outbreak within the Canberra Capitals has forced the club to withdraw from the WNBL playoffs.
The Capitals lost game one of their three-match semi-final series to Perth Lynx by 14 points.
But a COVID-19 outbreak left the Capitals unable to field the minimum seven players for last Sunday's scheduled second game in Canberra.
The club decided it will be "medically unsafe" for the Capitals to fly to Perth for the game which had been rescheduled for April 6.
"In consultation with medical staff, given the extenuating circumstances surrounding their COVID outbreak (including ACT government mandated isolation period), the Capitals have determined that it would be medically unsafe for the team to travel to Perth and play," the WNBL said in a statement on Tuesday.
"They have therefore advised that they cannot participate in the game, meaning the series reverts to one game, which has been played and won by the Perth Lynx.
"While a disappointing outcome for Capitals fans, the league understands and respects their decision not to travel to Perth."
The Lynx won game one 91-77 in Canberra last Thursday.
Perth will now face minor premiers Melbourne Boomers in the grand-final series this Saturday in Melbourne with game two on April 6 in Perth and, if needed, game three on April 9 in Melbourne.
The Boomers swept their semi-final series against Adelaide Lightning 2-0.
