COVID-19 rules Irvine, Goodwin out of Roos

COVID-19 has caused further havoc in the Socceroos' lead-up to their crunch World Cup qualifiers against Japan and Saudi Arabia, with Jackson Irvine and Craig Goodwin both ruled out.

Football Australia confirmed FC St Pauli midfielder Irvine tested positive for COVID-19 before departing Germany for Sydney, while Adelaide United attacker Goodwin was separately ruled out after being deemed a coronavirus close contact.
