A south Dublin Covid-19 testing centre is set to close its doors permanently.
The Tallaght Test Centre will no longer be operational from June 18 - six months after it first opened in January 2022. The centre carried out a whopping 44,278 swabs over the course of the last six months.
The HSE said the leases for a number of centres are coming to an end and the testing programme will be moved to small clinics. The Ballyboden Test Centre will open at Ballyboden Primary Care Centre, Edmondstown Road on June 28 as a replacement for the Tallaght clinic.

An HSE spokesperson said: "The smaller centres will require less staff to maintain the service so there will be a significant proportion of staff who will be leaving the testing service when their contract expires at the end of June.
"We have worked where possible to provide alternative funded opportunities from our service plan for people in these roles. Once the public health advice changes for population testing our testing centres will close.
"We are working to expand our Covid-19 surveillance programme and testing will remain available for those who require it to access therapeutic treatments, or as part of their clinical treatment. "
