COVID-19 case numbers from around the states and territories

Victoria

There have been another 24 COVID-19 deaths in Victoria.

Hospital admissions for the virus stand at 227 with 15 people in intensive care and four of them are on ventilators. 

There have been 2,102 new cases today. 

New South Wales

The state has recorded 25 more COVID-19 deaths. 

More than 1,500 people are in hospital with the virus, 29 of whom are in intensive care.

There have been 3,334 new cases announced today.

Mutations in the COVID-19 virus continue to pose a risk.
