Courteney Cox 'bored and dissociated' during awkward Graham Norton interview

Courteney Cox drew attention while featuring on the Graham Norton show on Friday night as viewers thought she looked bored out of her mind.

The 57-year-old Friends star was one of 58-year-old talk show host Graham’s guests on his BBC TV show alongside British stars Taron Egerton and Minnie Driver and Hollywood stars Uma Thurman and Ariana DeBose.

Fresh from the current success of the fifth Scream film, Courteney was on the show to promote her new comedy-horror series called Shining Veil.

Dressed all in black and with her hair loose around her shoulders, Courteney’s serene demeanour left many viewers feeling like she looked disengaged by the conversations on the panel.

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "Courteney Cox looks bored. Such a shame #GrahamNortonShow."

Another tweeted: "#Courteneycox looks like she wants to be somewhere else."

And a further critic tweeted: “He really is superb at managing the guests. It was a tough one tonight, too - Courteney Cox looked like she wasn’t present at all, almost dissociated. Her eyes looked glazed over, which isn’t how she used to come across."

While on the show, however, Courteney opened up about recently featuring in a music video alongside Sir Elton John and Ed Sheehan.

The actress was in a spoof version of music legend Sir Elt’s classic song Tiny Dancer – but wasn’t given much warning she was going to be involved.

She said on the show: "I called my piano teacher and said, 'You have to come to my house right now'. I had 20 minutes before Elton got there.

"My teacher taught me how to play that part. He was walking out as Elton was walking in."

She added: "It was the scariest and most nerve-wracking I've ever been, but it was the thrill of my life."

Meanwhile, Courteney is expected to soon be back in her finest power suit to reprise her role as Gail Weathers once again after filmmakers confirmed there will soon be a sixth Scream film.

Film companies Spyglass and Paramount said in a joint statement to The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday: “We are tremendously grateful to the fans around the world who enthusiastically received our film.

“We can’t wait for audiences to see what Radio Silence, writers Jamie & Guy and Project X have in store for our Woodsboro family.”

While Radio Silence told the outlet: “Working with such a wonderful and talented family of creators – and in the lineage Wes [Craven] and Kevin [Williamson] so expertly built – has been the thrill of a lifetime, and we’re so excited to bring the next chapter in the Scream saga to life."

The film series was first launched way back in 1996 and helped further increase Courteney’s fame following her initial success on Friends.

While fellow stars Neve Campbell and David Arquette have also featured in all five of the films released so far – with the latest earning over $100 million (£74 million) at the box office since its release last month.
