Court not a 'soapbox': Libs barrister defending lawsuit

Liberal Party Matt Davis Craig Laundy New South Wales NSW Supreme Court

The Liberal Party has asked a court to throw out a statement of claim from a former ministerial staffer and stop her airing the party's dirty laundry.

Natalie Baini took the Liberal Party's NSW division to court in December alleging she was blocked from being preselected to contest the inner west Sydney seat of Reid at the 2019 election.

She ran as an independent in 2022 but was unsuccessful in securing the seat, which fell to Labor's Sally Sitou.
