A record-winning couple dubbed the “cherubs from hell” thanks to their extreme body transformations are a step closer to a new milestone.
Victor Hugo and Gabriela Peralta met 24 years ago at a motorcycle event and bonded over their love of modifying their bodies.
Since then they have collectively had 50 piercings, 14 body implants, five dental implants, a tongue forked and had the whites of their eyes tattooed black.
They had already secured the records for most body modifications (married couple) with 84 in 2014 and now have around 98 so are just two away from 100.
Victor, from Uruguay, had his first modification made in 2009 when he added the stars to his forehead. The new look sparked an interest in Argentinean Gabriela who quickly followed with her own.
Victor said: “For me, being a Guinness World Records holder is a prize that life gives me for the love of body art.
“I am very grateful because this record helped me achieve one of my big dreams [such as] travelling to 20 countries, getting to know different cultures, and making new friendships around the world."
“Enjoy life, enjoy the art. Tattoos don’t make you a good or bad person - it's just art.
“There will be those who appreciate it and others who don't.”
Gabriela said her most painful modification was her three scarifications - when pictures or words are cut into the skin - which she described as “incomparable” to others.
Her favourites are the implants in her hands and forehead.
For Victor, the most painful experience was the pigmentation of his tongue, which caused difficulty breathing for hours.
Luckily he says it is also his favourite.
This couple believes the secret to their successful marriage is a shared love of art, modifications, tattoos as well as love, commitment and respect for each other.
Gabriela added: “The modification I like most about Victor are the star-shaped silicone implants he has on his forehead.
“Actually, I like all the modifications he has on his forehead.”
Last month a body-modification addict dubbed the 'Human Satan' revealed he now wants claws instead of hands.
Michel Faro Praddo, from Praia Grande, Brazil, has undergone more than 60 procedures and has around 85 per cent of his body covered in tattoos .
Now Praddo had said that his next ambition is to make his hands more like claws by sticking his index and middle fingers together.
He said: “'I’m passionate about bodybuilding, and when I make the changes, I can't move much until the end of recovery.
“Now, I'm studying to do something more aggressive."
