A resident has struck lucky twice, in love and in fortune, hitting the £50,000 jackpot at his local Mecca Bingo just weeks before his wedding day. Phil Bacon, a manual and delivery operator, won the life-changing amount of money.
The jackpot win has already changed Phil’s life, enabling him and fiancée, Cara-Jane Pallett, to have the wedding of their dreams. The lovebirds will tie the knot this summer and start married life in style as they drive away in a brand-new car.
Phil, 35, is a regular bingo player and was enjoying a night out with his friend when he hit the winning jackpot. Phil noticed he was getting closer to a full house, and initially thought he was on to win a few hundred pounds, but as he called house within 16 numbers, he had the realisation that he’d bagged the £50,000 prize instead.
Phil said: “I couldn’t believe it when I won the jackpot. I never expected to win such a huge amount of money, and I’m still in shock. I’ve been visiting Mecca Bingo for a while now and it’s always a great night out, but this is something else. I feel amazing, this has been completely life-changing.”
