A couple have claimed they're living in a nightmare as people have sex, inject drugs, defecate and urinate next to their home.
They also claim that vandals spray obscene graffiti on the walls, and say drunk revellers are often found unconscious on the floor in the narrow Poole Passage in Brighton.
Hughie O'Neill, 72, and his wife Chris, 59, say they are exhausted by the anti-social behaviour and want action to be taken.
They've splashed out £2,000 on CCTV and have put up warning signs and flashing lights to deter people.
Hughie, who moved to the property two years ago from quiet Cambridgeshire, told The Sun Online: "Prostitutes bring their clients down here and have sex standing against the wall.
"Drug users come down here to shoot up and dealers use it as a safe place to conduct their business.
"Vandals come down here regularly and spray graffiti stuff on the walls and people come down here to defecate and wee."
He says he is often left to clean up the mess in the morning.
He also claims some people play up to the CCTV cameras and make offensive gestures.
Hughie previously worked in show business for many years for famous TV magicians Paul Daniels and David Copperfield.
The couple, along with other residents and businesses, say they had no idea this would be their life after they chose to leave their quiet neighbourhood in Cambridgeshire.
Chris said: "We knew it would be livelier. But we had no idea how unpleasant it would also be."
The couple says they constantly call the police and have even asked the council to allow them to install gates to limit access.
They say that officials have refused, saying the alley is a thoroughfare as its just yards from the seafront.
Hughie added: “It’s been really getting me down. I ended up having to go on tablets because I was getting depressed.”
The couple has written to the Chief Constable of Sussex, the council and their local MP Caroline Lucas.
Chris and Hughie are not the only ones fed up with anti-social behaviour.
Mirkan Guner, manager of the Villa Turkish Restaurant, said they are left cleaning up people's mess and also want gates installed.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: "We are aware of a number of incidents and anti-social behaviour linked to Pool Passage, and are working alongside residents and community partners to put measures in place to address them.
"This includes the installation of improved and fixed street lighting, extra street cleaning, working with local businesses to help secure their waste bins and engaging with owners of local licensed premises, who are encouraged to remind their customers to be considerate of neighbouring residents.
"Our officers also carry out regular patrols around the city centre, including Pool Passage, as part of ongoing safety work around the night-time economy as well as during the day."
The Mirror Online has contacted Brighton & Hove City Council for comment.
