A new sustainable coffee shop is set to open in Meanwood this spring.
From an up-cycled horse trailer to a quirky venue, Humbl Coffee, are opening their very first coffee shop in May 2022 which all started from a staycation dream five years ago.
Baristas, Matt and Georgia, both from Meanwood, launched their battery powered mobile coffee shop one year ago and have been so successful in their venture they are opening up their first shop.

Humbl Coffee is a sustainable coffee shop in Leeds, their aim is to encourage people to make better in their life and show they can switch to a more eco-friendly way of drinking coffee. The brand is big on inclusivity.
Matt and Georgia, founders of Humbl coffee, started their adventure with a dream when in a restaurant on holiday in Edinburgh. Matt has ran bars and cafes for over ten years and always dreamt of owning his own.
When Covid hit and hospitality closed, Matt was forced into working in retail - but was eager to get back to doing what he loved so the couple spontaneously bought their lockdown project, a run-down horsebox in serious need of tlc.
Matt and Georgia bought the horse trailer from Facebook Marketplace, which was in a state of repair. The couple renovated it and branded it out with the help of Matt's dad and now they use it for trading Humbl Coffee around Meanwood.
Matt said: "It just kind of became our lockdown project we had the time and a lot of help from my dad, he was brilliant.
"Coffee is something I love and specialise in, I tried supermarket work, but what I do is what I love the horsebox made sense.
Georgia added: "All the branding, marketing and everything is done in house. We have had a lot of support from Chipp Coffee - they have been super supportive from the moment we started collaborating."
After huge success the couple are focusing on opening a new shop, the pair had debated opening the coffee shop before the mobile unit but Covid made it more realistic to do it the other way around. For the time being they plan on focusing solely on the shop but plan coming back to the battery powered trailer when funds make it plausible to.
The pair have set up a Crowdfunder page to help get their business of the ground, click here to donate.
Georgia said: "I think Matt will look forward to not have to wear thermals every day when the shop opens."
She added: "The support has been incredible, it's amazing be a part of Meanwood. It's heart warming.
"We weren't expecting such a huge response, its hard running your own business and takes a lot of time, its just overwhelmed us both.
Matt added: "On the surface its lovely but the legs under water are running really fast. It's worth it and it's why we are trying to persevere and grow the business."
The pair are currently renovating their new, very aesthetically pleasing, shop on Monk Bridge Street in Meanwood but hope it will be ready to launch mid May. Keep your eyes peeled on their Instagram page for the launch date - I must admit I'm excited for the launch.
