A couple had to carry their injured dog for four miles down Wales' highest peak after railway workers refused to let them on the train. Danny Pyatt and his girlfriend Justyna Popera from Ascot, Berkshire were hiking up Yr Wyddfa in the Snowdonia National Park for the first time when their 70lb German pointer, Kilo, sprained his hip at the top of the summit.
According to Danny, Snowdon Mountain Railway staff told the couple that they only allowed registered support dogs on board and that the trains were full. Despite help from various people along the way, Danny described the situation as "frustrating".
The couple had hiked up the mountain on Saturday, July 16 when the temperature was 28C - the same day as when Snowdon Race was taking place. Speaking to WalesOnline, Danny said: "Just as we reached the top, a few runners were running up there as well and there were a few marshals present there.
