NONTHABURI - A man, his wife and their seven-year-old daughter were found dead near a stove with burnt charcoal in their bedroom in Bang Bua Thong district on Wednesday morning.

According to local media reports, the deceased adults were identified as Narubet, 31, Pornwipia, 32. The couple were civil servants.

Officers arriving at the house in tambon Bang Rak Pattana found cloth tucked into the space around the door of the second-floor bedroom containing the stove.

Narubet reportedly was a civil engineer in Bangkok and his wife was a legal affairs official at the Bang Plap municipal office in Pak Kret district.

A colleague of the woman said she had been absent from work for two days, so the colleague arrived at the house on Wednesday morning. The front door to the townhouse was not locked but the bedroom was. The colleague then called security guards and police to open the bedroom.

A neighbour said he had heard sounds of a quarrel from the house late Sunday night.
