Countryfile viewers were appalled by the amount of "X-rated" content in Sunday night's episode, with some people branding the show "pure filth" for airing raunchy scenes.
The episode saw presenter Hamza Yassin go in search of red deer fawns in the Scottish Highlands. The Strictly Come Dancing star trekked through the hills to find the elusive animal.
After seeing clues such as fallen antlers, Hamza managed to find an entire herd. He was left stunned as a young stag mounted a female in front of him.
The filmmaker said: "There’s the young stag, he’s just mounting a female. That’s amazing.
"It’s not the time of year, it’s the middle of summer. Maybe he is just practicing."
The episode went on to show three more scenes with animals mating. Tom Hartwell filmed two bees mating in a bee hotel, while two sets of birds were seen getting raunchy near the end of the show.
Presenter Richard Taylor-Jones said: "The male has just got on top of the female, he’s pecked her by the back of the head, pulled her head up, and that’s grey partridge mating.
"I have never seen that before!"
Some viewers weren't impressed by the scenes and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
One person said: "I reckon thats four sex scenes this week! Pure filth!!"
Another fan wrote: "What is going on in #Countryfile so much mating," while a third tweeted: "Blimey sex and violence all within 15 mins #countryfile."
One viewer said: "It’s just pure filth tonight," while another simply wrote: "Xrated #Countryfile."
Filmmaker Hamza will soon appear on series 20 of BBC's Strictly alongside his Countryfile co-star Helen Skelton. Speaking about his upcoming appearance on the show, Hamza said: "I am absolutely over the moon to be joining Strictly 2022.
"Never in a million years did I think I’d be on such a cool show. I’ve been watching it for years and I can’t believe I’ll actually be there dancing live in front of the British public."
He added: "My dance skills are currently at the level of ‘1970’s disco vibe’ but I’m ready to work hard and will be shaking it every time I get the chance – shake it ‘til you make it!"
