Country star Paddy O'Brien has said he turned to drinking to help him cope with a period of depression in his life when he was "torn apart".
The Waterford legend said drinking alcohol "heavily" at one point "started small" until it became a bigger problem - but he's now past that.
And he said at times he didn't even want to go on stage when touring, adding: "Life on the road wasn’t always roses."
